Individual Schedules With Endless Possibilities
Wa-Klo offers a 2, 3, 4, or 7 week option session length. Wa-Klo’s 1st session (4 weeks) and 2nd session (3 weeks) are very different from one another; each session has its own unique program and traditions. Girls that opt for the 7-week experience have a different and exciting program throughout the summer, for there is no repetition in program. There is a 2-week option the first two weeks of the 1st session for girls completing grades 1-6 and, for new campers only, during the first 2-weeks of the 2nd session in grades 1-6.
Wa-Klo is strong in four major areas—English horseback riding, arts, land and water activities, which is perfect for an all-around camping experience. Our equestrian program is one of the best in the region that offers a scope of possibilities while learning to ride in a beautiful setting. The arts program is wonderful with opportunities in both visual and performing arts. Land activities include a variety of individual and team sports not to mention a field archery class plus Pet Care that includes bunnies, calves, sheep, and goats. Water activities are vast and invigorating on our 3,000 feet of waterfront.
At Wa-Klo each girl creates her own, personal activity schedule. Each week there is an opportunity to change classes if the camper wishes to do so. Some campers keep their same schedule for the entire session while other girls switch their schedules weekly. Campers discuss their schedules with their counselors and select activities they really love, ones they would like to try, and others that may be challenging. A girl can spend an entire day exploring Wa-Klo’s extensive waterfront, refining her skills in several land activities, creating in the arts n’ crafts room, learning how to ride, acting in a play, and so much more. In any activity she chooses, her skills will improve as she works with counselors and activity specialists to develop talents and nurture interests.
